Climate Change: How much can we stand?

According to the latest studies and reports about climate change our world is changing drastically and the change is speeding up. The global temperature is rising, sea level is rising, arctic sea ice is disappearing, less snow in lower regions, heavy storms are more frequents, and more and more. Scientists mostly agree that the main source of this change is human and his activities. The latest fourth IPCC (Intergovernmental panel on climate change) Assessment Report - Climate Change 2007 is showing frightening climate change assessments and predictions for the future (http://www.ipcc.ch/ipccreports/assessments-reports.htm):

  • probable temperature rise by the end of the century: between 1.8c and 4C

  • possibility of highest temperature rise up to 6.4C

  • sea level rise up to 43 centimeters

So what can we do about it, is there still a way to improve this situation or we are to late, our earth has no more brakes it is just speeding up to … WHERE? Even Kyoto Protocol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto_Protocol) will not solve this problem… it is a good way of improving things but I think this won’t be enough to save our earth. But we should not fall into despair. I think we’ll have to accommodate our life style and we (businesses and people) we’ll have to act green as much as possible.
